They simply must die. What a load of mindless, endless drivel written by narcissistic, egotistical idiots. Not only do they appear to spend hours of their lives prattling on about their cat or grandmother or the pimple on their backside, but they also waste countless hours of normal netziens lives but polluting the search engine results with their gibberish.

There appears to be plenty of anti-blog sentiment about already. Please read this article in The Register where the author of an open-letter sums up the situation perfectly.

UPDATE: We have solution already - excellent work. Bloggers should upload a file called ROBOTS.TXT onto their webserver this must contain the follow text:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /

This will tell the search engine robot to not index their entire site. If the site does contain some useful information then the site should be organized in such as way as to keep the blogs separate.

User-agent: *
Disallow: /blogs

It is easy to test if a site has the robots.txt file. Simply type the url http://www.theblogsite.com/robots.txt into the address box. If there is a robots.txt file it will be displayed

For more information on the robot.txt file please see http://www.robotstxt.org/wc/robots.html

UPDATE 2: Attention bloggers who do not have access to the root directory of their webserver ie. to be able to place a file http://www.blogsite.com/here.txt

For them there is still Good News! - They can use the Robots Meta Tag Format

This section of text should be added to each web page to prevent it being indexed by search engines.

For more information on the Robots Meta Tag Format please see http://www.searchengineworld.com/metatag/robots.htm

<HTML> <HEAD> <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX,NOFOLLOW"> <META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="THIS PAGE ...."> <TITLE>...</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY>

HOWEVER TO ENCOURAGE THOSE TO LEAVE THE REST OF US ALONE...

If you have found a blog via a search engine that does not have the exclusion robots.txt file in place then please feel free to suggest the worst weblog you have seen.
